Desert Mountain captured the AIA Division II boys golf state championship Thursday, Oct. 29, beating Horizon by 17 strokes after the two teams entered the final round tied.
The Wolves finished at 552, 24-under par for the two-day tournament at Aguila Golf Course in Phoenix. Horizon posted 569, finishing 7-under. Arcadia placed third at 580.
It is the third team championship in Desert Mountain program history, according to AZPreps365. The previous titles came in 2005 and 2015.
